WYNDHAM GRAND HOTEL
Concept: This existing building was renovated to become a new Hotel: Stylish design for a perfect location on the banks of the River Main in Frankfurt/Germany.We did the lighting design for the public areas in order to enhance the atmosphere and the style with light.
Challenge: The ground floor of the hotel is a multifunctional space as it combines the hotel lobby, morning buffet restaurant and bar. Therefore the lighting was designed to fit all different functions.
Solution: Downlights are located above the bar and the sitting areas. Same fixtures with a narrow beam angle around the huge columns - an architectural element we chose to highlight. The downlights are creating the general light and the architectural light whereas decorative floor lamps, randomly located in the sitting areas, create a warm atmosphere. Three different clusters of pendant luminaires are designating three counters: the front desk with a custom-made large lighting sculpture with many curvy tubes, the buffet bar and another counter.
